Popsicle Sticks

Popsicle Sticks app
INTRODUCTION
I made this app for my wife. She is an elementary school teacher and often needs to choose kids to take turns in her classes. This app allows her to choose kids at random, but also ensure everyone gets a turn. If you’ve ever used jars of popsicle sticks to manage turns, that’s what this app does.
This app runs entirely on your phone. There are no servers and no back-end. The upside to this is that there is no need for a login, and it meets most cybersecurity policies by default. The downside is that I can’t add features like the ability to bulk upload classes and students.
HOW TO USE THE APP
Start by adding a class on the main screen. All you have to do to add a class is press the “+” button in the header. Give the class a name, and optionally select a custom color using the colored box right between the name and the checkmark. Click the check mark when you are done. You can add as many classes as you want.
Now you need to add some students to your classes. In order to add a student, clck the plus button on the row for that class. Type in a name and click the check mark when you are done. Keep adding as many students as you need.
In order to manage turns, you click on the row for the class, and it will take you to the turns screen. You can choose a specific student by clicking on the button that says “Pick me!”, or you can click on “Choose a Rando” to pick a random student. If you choose a random student, you can either mark them as absent so they don’t get picked again, or click take turn. The idea is that each student gets a turn before you start picking at random again, so you can reset the list of absent students separately from resetting everyone. That way you get through everyone before starting over.
